Community-centre activities and South Glenmore Park

The Oakridge Community Association publishes resources for programs, its arena, community garden and rental spaces at 9504 Oakfield Drive SW. Select an activity that matters to you and ask about current registration or availability. A program listing does not establish a place in a class or a garden plot.

The City’s South Glenmore Park guide describes pathways, playgrounds and recreation around the reservoir’s south side. It includes Variety Park and the Quinterra garden setting. Plan that visit separately from an association activity and check current feature status with the City before relying on a seasonal facility.

The outdoor setting still needs a property comparison

Test the complete route from the address to the park entrance you would use. Then assess the private yard: its usable areas, shade, orientation, privacy and connection to the home. A public green-space destination does not establish a private view or direct access from every Oakridge property.

For sellers, distinguish the house’s documented updates from maintenance and condition questions still ahead. Compare above-grade space, functional room arrangement and outdoor use with relevant sales and active alternatives. The City’s 2021 profile adds historical community context; it is not evidence of current neighbourhood pricing.

Construction periods, neighbouring communities and park records

A closer look at Oakridge’s detached stock and setting

Choose the evidence the house needs

The largest recorded construction group is 1960–1989: 1,700 of 1,704 valid-year records (99.8%). Start with this era when organizing your questions, then check the individual property’s records.

Check which original systems and layout remain, which changes have supporting permits and records, and whether the renovation addressed structure and mechanical work as well as finishes. Original construction year does not date the latest improvement.

The mean assessment is 2.1% above the median. The middle half of recorded assessments runs from $753,500 to $977,000. This describes an unadjusted housing-stock distribution; it does not assign a location premium or value a candidate home. Recorded lots have a 630.8 m² median. Check usable dimensions, grading, easements and parking against the candidate property’s survey and documents.

Community edges to investigate

The City polygons share a boundary segment with Cedarbrae, Glenmore Park, Palliser. Use the map to investigate a home near these edges; a shared polygon boundary does not establish a street connection, route or comparable-home relationship.

Named City park-site records

1 active named park-site polygon overlaps the Oakridge outline by at least 100 m². The names below are City dataset labels, which can include school grounds and shared facilities.

A polygon overlap is location evidence. It does not establish a public entrance, opening hours, admission, school designation or access rights. Check the site and its operator before planning an outing. City park visitor information.

Shared boundaries require at least 25 metres of exact boundary; this list is not exhaustive where polygons have gaps. Areas and lengths use NAD83 / UTM zone 11N.
